After spending his high school years as a drummer for various bands in Nashville and his native Nebraska, David Condos picked up a guitar and went solo in 2005. He'd always had an interest in writing his own material, having begun writing songs when he was in the third grade. Once he became immersed in the singer/songwriter culture at Nashville's Belmont University, he decided to make the switch to become a frontman. He performed around the Southeast for about a year before winning Belmont's prestigious songwriter showcase competition. This spotlight brought him a slew of interest from music industry veterans, including producer Tom Laune (R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen, Mat Kearney). Condos handed Laune an early demo of "I Should Be Lost Without You" that he recorded on his roommate's laptop in their dorm room, and the producer immediately saw potential. Soon enough, Condos found himself in the studio recording the ten tracks that would eventually become his debut album, Smoking City. The album was independently released in 2006. His follow-up EP, Like Wolves, was also recorded with Laune and debuted in 2008. Songs from these releases have been featured on TV shows such as Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Hills, Teen Wolf, Kyle XY and One Tree Hill and in ads by brands like Triumph Motorcycles, Old Forester Bourbon and Kmart. Since moving on from his solo project, Condos has gone on to lead the bands Milktooth and The Broken Wilds.
