Adastra, a 22 year old University of Washington graduate, has had his sights set on music from a young age. He picked up the trumpet in the third grade, and was soon playing every instrument he could get his hands on. In high school he discovered electronic music, and soon began messing around with producing and mixing music with as much passion as he first put into his classical music background.
He decided on the name Adastra, Latin for "To the Stars". Since then, his style has developed into something typically characterized by a spacey feel, exploring his statement "music that will take you to the stars.”
In music production, Adastra takes inspiration from artists like Feed Me, Seven Lions, Deadmau5, and Porter Robinson. His music has garnered features on blogs, YouTube channels, and even a release on England-based Beluga Collective.
The past year has also seen Adastra break into the club scene. From Foundation Nightclub to STAGE's Bass Therapy, where he is a resident, Adastra has been seen playing in the best nightclubs across Seattle. His sets are an electrifying mix of melodic bass, electro house, future bass, trap, usually mashing in pop and hip hop classics that you'd least expect.
Adastra also recently co-founded UW's first Electronic Music Producers club and has helped it grow to a community of over 30 members.
Expect great things from Adastra in the years to come as he continues to reach for the stars.
